Dr. Torcia is a highly-regarded embryologist known for her relentless pursuit of excellence and record of innovation. Before embarking on clinical embryology, Dr. Torcia was an accomplished research scientist at both Stanford and UCSF, where she published her work in the prestigious journal Nature Cell Biology. Her previous research focused on gene expression during preimplantation embryo development, and now focuses on optimizing oocyte vitrification and in vitro oocyte maturation. Ten years ago, she transitioned toward human-assisted reproduction at UCSF and has continued to develop new techniques and push for excellence at multiple embryology labs. At Spring Fertility, she is committed to giving each embryo the best chance of survival possible and continues to focus on developing new embryo culture techniques, as well as egg and embryo cryopreservation.
Dr. Torcia is extremely dedicated, meticulous, and joined Spring to deliver the highest quality fertility care to ensure that everyone has the ability to have a family. When not in the lab, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Dr. Vaccari, and their three year old daughter.
