Celebrating Reproductive Health & Fertility Awareness With Our Portland Community

This Fall, Spring Fertility brought a new level of fertility education and support to Portland, blending expert-led sessions with vibrant community gatherings. As we celebrated National Health Education Week and raised awareness about reproductive health, our events welcomed those curious about fertility, looking to explore family-building options, or simply wanting a deeper understanding of their own health. We hosted myth-busting discussions, in-depth looks at egg freezing, and even fertility happy hours at local favorites like The Sports Bra and ENSO Winery. Let’s look back on these events, plus some upcoming opportunities for you to join us in Portland!

Event Highlights

Let’s Talk Fertility, With The Sports Bra!

We kicked off our October series with a lively happy hour at The Sports Bra—a Portland hotspot dedicated to celebrating women’s sports. This event blended a casual, friendly atmosphere with impactful discussions about fertility and egg freezing. Dr. Liz Rubin led a presentation on fertility basics, the egg-freezing journey, and inclusive care for LGBTQIA+ individuals.

Guests enjoyed beverages and light bites while Dr. Rubin covered everything from the biological clock to the importance of choosing a trusted fertility clinic. Questions flowed freely, and attendees left feeling better prepared to make informed decisions about their reproductive futures.

Fitness & Fertility with Chromacore: Let’s Talk Egg Freezing!

This event brought together movement and fertility education for a holistic approach to health and wellness. In collaboration with our neighbor, Chromacore, we hosted a unique experience where guests could participate in a 25-minute Lagree fitness class and dive into a conversation about egg freezing with Spring Fertility’s Dr. Molly Kornfield. Designed to cater to everyone, this event offered options for both fitness enthusiasts and those more focused on fertility education, with an option to join just the Q&A portion.

Dr. Kornfield led a vibrant discussion, tackling everything egg-freezing-related and offering clarity on the process, benefits, and questions to consider. This unique fitness and fertility blend aimed to help guests feel empowered both in their physical health and their reproductive choices. The event was met with enthusiasm and left attendees informed and inspired!

Dogwood Wines x Spring Fertility: Egg Freezing 101

For those contemplating fertility preservation, "Egg Freezing 101" at Dogwood Wines was an intimate event designed to provide an in-depth look at the egg-freezing process. Hosted in partnership with Dogwood during Roux, the event featured female-owned wines and delicious bites from Providore to create a relaxed, welcoming setting. Dr. Liz Rubin, one of Spring Fertility's esteemed physicians, took the lead, explaining the science, benefits, and considerations of egg freezing.

Attendees came to the event seeking answers about fertility preservation and what it means for their future. Dr. Rubin guided them through the steps, from hormone injections to egg retrieval, demystifying a process that can feel overwhelming. It was an evening focused on empowering guests with knowledge, whether they were sure about wanting children in the future or simply wanted to keep their options open.

Myth Busting: Periods to Pregnancy & Everything In Between

On October 22nd, we wrapped up National Health Education Week at ENSO Winery with "Myth Busting: Periods to Pregnancy & Everything In Between." This event was designed for anyone eager to understand reproductive health better—from menstrual cycles to fertility preservation. Led by Dr. Jennifer Lincoln, an OBGYN, lactation consultant, and medical writer, along with Dr. Tom Fisher, a fertility specialist and Spring Fertility’s Co-Medical Director, the discussion delved into topics that most of us didn’t cover in high school health class.

Dr. Lincoln and Dr. Fisher shared their expertise on a range of issues, debunking common misconceptions about periods, fertility, and more. The event encouraged attendees to bring their questions, offering a welcoming and open environment where everyone felt comfortable discussing reproductive health. Our goal was to help attendees feel informed and empowered about their bodies and their reproductive choices. Conversations flowed freely, breaking down stigmas, and fostering an atmosphere of learning and support.
