In the realm of reproductive health, the pursuit of fertility treatments can often feel like a journey through a maze of complex information and financial considerations. At Spring Fertility, we're on a mission to simplify this process and make fertility care more accessible. If you’re exploring fertility preservation through egg freezing, understanding pricing, insurance coverage, and payment options is key to making informed decisions about your reproductive journey.
Transparent Pricing for Egg Freezing
When it comes to egg freezing, transparency is paramount, especially when it comes to cost expectations. We believe in providing clear and comprehensive pricing information upfront, ensuring that you know exactly what to expect throughout the process. Here's a breakdown of our egg freezing cost estimates by Spring location:
Recognizing that some individuals may require multiple egg freezing cycles to retrieve the number of eggs they need for their age and family-building goals, we offer a 10% discount on successive rounds for self-pay patients.
Please note that, when you come back to use your frozen eggs to build your family, you should anticipate additional costs ranging from $23k-25k to complete the IVF process, covering steps including egg thaw, fertilization, development to blastocyst, preimplantation genetic testing, FET medication, and embryo transfer.
Flexible Payment Options for Egg Freezing
We understand that fertility treatments represent a significant financial investment, which is why we offer flexible payment options to accommodate your needs and hopefully make egg freezing more financially accessible to those looking to preserve their fertility. Our no-down-payment, no-interest payment plan for one egg freezing cycle allows you to spread the cost over time with monthly payments of $249. This plan covers ultrasound and blood monitoring, anesthesia, egg retrieval, and egg freezing, and excludes the initial consultation. Note that you will still have to pay for medications and storage - they are not included in that payment plan.
If you want to explore a payment plan that allows you to finance medication costs as well, we're proud to partner with PatientFi, a leading financing provider specializing in healthcare expenses, including fertility treatments. PatientFi offers personalized loan options tailored to your specific financial situation, making it easier to manage the costs of IVF and other fertility services. With competitive interest rates and flexible repayment terms, PatientFi provides a convenient way to finance your fertility journey without sacrificing the quality of care you deserve. If you're interested in learning more about financing your fertility treatments through PatientFi, our team can provide information about the application process, eligibility criteria, and repayment options.
The Spring Promise: Shared Risk Program
While cost is an important consideration when determining whether or not egg freezing is an accessible option for you at this time, it’s important to remember that where you freeze your eggs matters in terms of future success. If the goal is to be able to fertilize those eggs and turn them into a baby one day, you should be able to trust that the clinic you’ve frozen your eggs at has a strong lab and great IVF outcomes.
Our commitment to your success extends beyond financial considerations, and we believe that we are only as successful as our patients. Through our Spring Promise shared risk program, qualifying patients who freeze 20 eggs by age 35, or 30 eggs before 38, and are unable to achieve a successful pregnancy upon returning to use them may be eligible for a full refund of all money paid to Spring as part of their egg freezing cycle. This program underscores our dedication to supporting you on your fertility journey, both emotionally and financially.
Insurance Coverage for Egg Freezing
If you have been told you have 'fertility' coverage with your commercial insurance, it is best to speak with a representative from your insurance to understand if that includes egg freezing. Even if a fertility clinic 'takes your insurance,' that does not necessarily mean your plan has coverage specifically for fertility preservation. Usually “fertility coverage” for commercial insurance refers to fertility treatment for individuals who have been diagnosed with infertility and are trying to build their families through IUI or IVF. At the end of the day, whether or not all or some of your egg freezing cycle is covered by a commercial insurance provider is determined by your employer, so connecting with HR to understand the full scope of your benefit is a helpful step to avoid confusion and any unexpected costs along the way.
If you are lucky enough to have fertility-specific insurance through your employer with a benefits provider such as Progyny, Carrot, Stork Club, or Win Fertility, it is likely that you'll have coverage for egg freezing. It is also possible that your company might have a “stipend” set up to reimburse for fertility preservation cycles (this is more common at companies that are too small to qualify for fertility-specific insurance).
Always check with your insurance provider to understand what is and is not covered by your benefits package (and whether they are covered upfront or reimbursed after the fact) to avoid unexpected costs during the process.
Employee resource groups are fantastic advocates in the workplace when it comes to fertility and family-building benefits, and also a wonderful space to learn from other colleagues who have been through the process. And if you don’t have fertility coverage - talk to HR at your company about how important it is for them to provide this option for you and your colleagues!
